Sixty seconds, as many words as you can
Words come one after another, like a line of real text. Type the word, press Space, and the next one is ready. Every right key moves your runner one metre down the track.
The runner in the lane beside you is your own best pace on this device. The first time it runs at a steady 20 words per minute. Beat it and it gets faster next time.
Skills practiced
- Typing common words quickly and accurately
- Using the Space bar without breaking rhythm
- Reading the next word while typing this one
Questions
How is my speed counted?
In words per minute: every five right keys, spaces included, count as one word. That is the same way typing tests measure speed.
Who is the other runner?
Your own best pace on this device, never another player. Nothing is sent to a server.
Do I have to press Space?
Yes. Space finishes each word, just like typing real sentences.
