Hold the line by typing faster than they march.

How to play

Type the word over a monster. Every right letter fires an arrow.
Your first letter picks the monster closest to the wall.
Dots after a word mean more words: knights have two, ogres have three.
Backspace lets go of a word. Esc pauses the game.

Hold the castle with your keyboard

Monsters march along three roads toward your castle, and each one carries a word. Type the word and the archers fire: one arrow for every right letter, and the last letter knocks the monster out.

Slimes carry one short word and goblins a longer one. Knights wear armour, so they need two words. Every fifth wave an ogre arrives with three long words.

A monster that reaches the wall costs a heart, an ogre costs two. You have five hearts, and every wave you clear gives one back.

Skills practiced

  • Typing whole words under pressure
  • Choosing which word to type first
  • Keeping accuracy as the waves speed up

Questions

How do I get a heart back?
Clear a wave. Every wave you finish gives back one heart, up to five.
Why did my arrows stop?
You pressed a key that is not the next letter of the word you picked. Type the right letter and the archers fire again.
Is there sound?
Yes, but it starts switched off. Press the speaker button in the game to turn it on.
