Every row is a layer of the sea. Type a fish to reel it in.
How to play
Type the word on a fish to reel it in. Upper or lower case both count.
The keyboard at the bottom lights up the next key in its finger's color.
Backspace lets go of a fish. Esc pauses the game.
The sea is a keyboard
The sea in Keyboard Fishing has four layers, stacked just like the rows of keys: the number row near the surface, then the top row, the home row, and the bottom row down on the sandy sea floor. Pick a row and its fish swim in its layer. Each fish carries a word you can type with that row's keys. Type the word and the fisher cat reels the fish up into the boat.
Short words are small fish; long words like typewriter are big ones. Now and then a golden fish swims by, worth double. A fishing trip lasts 90 seconds. Every six fish the words get longer, and after that the fish swim faster. A fish that gets away only takes its points with it, so there are no lives to lose.
Words from one row
The top row spells more words than you might think: pretty, power, quiet, typewriter. The home row has ask, glass and alfalfa. The bottom row has no vowels, so its words use the a from the home row: can, jazz, banana. The number row brings two-digit numbers first, then three and four digits. Pick All rows to fish every layer at once.
Which finger?
The keyboard under the sea lights up the next key in the color of the finger that presses it, and on a wide screen names the finger too. Press a wrong key and it flashes red, so you can see how far your finger was from the right one.
